1785 - Number of games the Islanders have played at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum (1668 in the regular season and 120 in the playoffs).
The Caps will have two chances to make tomorrow afternoon's Game Six the last one they ever play there.
For their part, the Caps have gone 53-58-2-3 in that building, including a 6-10 mark in the playoffs. But, as our pal Mike Vogel pointed out regarding that regular-season record:
That’s quite good, especially when you consider that Washington needed more than eight years to earn its first win here. That was a 5-1 triumph on Dec. 23, 1982, nearly eight years after the Caps played here for the first time. Washington was 0-18-1 in its first 19 visits to Long Island, and the Capitals were outscored by a combined total of 95-42 in those 19 games.
