Recap: Backstrom's OT Winner Ties the Series at 2
First period goals from Alex Ovechkin and Casey Cizikas had the score knotted at one after the first period. Fifty one minutes of scoreless hockey would follow, until Nicklas Backstrom tallied at the eleven minute mark of overtime to tie the series.

Overtime Thread
Sixty minutes couldn't solve Game Four and the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders will decide the game's outcome in overtime. Alex Ovechkin and Casey Cizikas are your goal scorers, both in the first period.

Third Period Thread
The Capitals killed off three consecutive penalties in a span of 7:12 during the middle frame and that is the only reason the game is still tied at one apiece. Braden Holtby has made 20 saves through the game's opening forty minutes.

Second Period Thread
Washington and New York each put one on the board in the first period, the Capitals' Alex Ovechkin and the Islanders' Casey Cizikis each tallying. Ovechkin's goal came at the thirteen minute mark and Cizikis' came in the nick of time at 19:48.
