Well this one got ugly, but there was a glimmer of hope at the end. Miscue after miscue, botch after botch, left the Caps down by three until late in the period, when Marcus Johansson scored on a redirect to make it 4-2 New York. Two walk-in goals from beneath the circles are more than Holtby can be expected to stop, and everything below the blue line has just looked sloppy. Here’s hoping they can turn it around.
