The Capitals penalty kill is so good if it were any better it would be called bourbon and fresh uni. Nicklas Backstrom caught a four minute double-minor for high-sticking Oscar Klefbom and making him...cry, I guess? A bloodless revolution begat a bloodless revolution as the Caps killed the whole thing without incident.
Despite a great shift by Marcus Johansson and his linemates, the Oilers still lead the shots by a bunch, 23-14. The game doesn't feel that far apart, though, partially because the Caps lead in hits 19-7 and in blocked shots 16-5. Still 0-0 after the second in D.C.
