The Noon Number: Green Roots

575 – Number of regular-season games Mike Green played for the Caps over his decade in DC, 20th all time in franchise history (and the 8th-most appearances by a defenseman). Green is one of just 37 active players in the League to have appeared in as many as 570 games for a single team since making his debut in 2005, and one of four to have played that many for the Caps over that span.

Over the course of his 10 seasons with Washington, Green racked up an impressive 360 points – 113 goals, 247 assists – which ranks fifth among Caps’ defensemen and 19th overall. Another 71 playoff games (tied with Nicklas Backstrom for the eighth-most in Caps’ history) and 35 points in the postseason (tied with Dino Ciccarelli for 14th-highest total) round out what ended up being a pretty stellar résumé, both on an individual level and for the franchise.
