The Noon Number: Unsuck Metro

A look at a rough start for the Metropolitan Division

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

4 - Number of teams in the Metropolitan Division still looking for their first win of the season, more than the rest of the League combined. The Hurricanes, Penguins and Devils are all 0-3-0, while Columbus dropped its fourth-straight game last night.

It has been a rough start for the Division as a whole, to say the least. The eight Metropolitan teams have combined for a grand total of seven wins so far (with three of those seven being intradivision games, so someone was going to win), and only two of the eight have earned more than one win on the season. Seven of the teams also boast a negative goal differential. For the sake of comparison, only eight teams across the rest of the League have fewer than two wins and have given up more goals than they've scored.
