Counting down the days until the 2014-15 season with a look at the Caps' ability to shut down games when leading after two

...the number of wins earned by the Capitals in 2013-14 when leading after forty minutes, in 28 total attempts. The Caps' four losses when leading after two periods all came by way of overtime or the shootout, earning 52 of a possible 56 points in those situations (a points-percentage of just under 93%, 8th-highest in the League).

That was a nice change of pace from 2012-13, when they picked up three regulation losses when leading after two (tied for second-most in the League) - the first time they'd led after 40 minutes and failed to capture at least a point since the 2008-09 season.
