Official Capitals Development Camp Guide (pdf)
Location: Kettler Capitals IcePlex, Arlington, VA at Ballston Common Mall
About the Official Roster: Signed Players and Caps Draft Picks
- All six (6) 2014 draft picks and all six (6) 2013 draft picks are on the camp roster
- Six (6) players are signed to NHL contracts: Bowey, Burakovsky, Copley, Djoos, Herbert, Stephenson
- Two (2) players signed to AHL contracts with Hershey Bears: Garrett Haar and Michal Cajkovsky (note, Cajkovsky contract is not confirmed by Hershey at this time; information is based on his bio in the Dev Camp Guide)
- Draft Picks by Year: 2010 (1); 2011 (3); 2012 (5); 2013 (6); 2014 (6) plus free agent signings (2)
- Don't see any unsigned Caps draft picks missing from the camp roster, except for Kostenko and not sure how to categorize him at this time (note, unless something has changed, Caps hold rights to Russian prospects drafted out of Russia unless they release them from the reserve list;) also, plenty of reasons NCAA players don't attend from summer school classes to the cost.; good to see all of the NCAA draft picks, including Di Pauli and Wuthrich, are listed on the roster; the two Notre Dame players did not attend last summer; from what I recall, this will be Wuthrich's first Caps camp
Free Agent Invites:
Capitals typically do not identify the free agent invites in their press releases about development camp, in advance of camp actually opening. The players below have been identified via articles, blogs and twitter (all subject to change):
Invited players are listed in alphabetical order by position: F-D-G; for hockeydb or eliteprospects profile click on the player's name.
