A few World Championship updates:

• Joel Ward had a two-goal game for Canada as they defeated Slovakia 4-1.
• Philipp Grubauer dressed as the backup for Team Germany in their 2-1 win over Kazakhstan.
• Germany plays again today; their opponent is Latvia.
• Mikhail Grabovski and Belarus will try for a happier result against the Kazakhs.
• And Russia takes on Finland, who surprisingly dropped their first game yesterday to Latvia.
• Team Russia has formally requested that goal #3 from their first game (a 5-0 victory over Sweden) be credited to Evgeny Kuznetsov. That goal is currently property of Vadim Shipachev.
• And now everyone go out and be awesome for their moms.
