6 - Number of games in a row that the Caps have lost when registering 40 or more shots on goal, including last night's 41-shot overtime loss. Since the team's last 40-shot win (a Division-clinching 5-3 victory over Winnipeg on April 23, 2013), the Caps have gone 0-2-4 when topping 40 shots, scoring just nine times on 267 shots (a 3.4% shooting percentage).

This season, NHL teams are 38-20-11 when reaching the 40-shot plateau (the Caps are 0-1-1), and the Caps are 90-46-13-14 when hitting that mark since the start of the 1987-88 season (38-22-12 in The Ovechkin Era).
