The Noon Number: Age (Like Points) is Just a Number

333 – Number of points Devils wing Jaromir Jagr had compiled in the NHL before Caps center Andre Burakovsky was born (and that doesn’t count Jagr’s 52 playoff points, or the goal and three assists he posted on Long Island the day Burakovsky was born).

Those 333 points are more than all but two current Caps (Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom) have in their careers, and if the 42-year-old Jagr hadn’t scored a single point in Burakovsky’s lifetime, he’d still rank 776th all-time in points. As it is, he ranks sixth.

Jagr (who has been on this earth for 210 more days than Burakovsky and Evgeny Kuznetsov combined) and the Devils visit Verizon Center tonight.
