A look at the Caps' recent inability to win low-scoring game

0 - Number of non-shootout wins the Capitals have since the outset of the 2012-13 season in which they've scored two goals or fewer (no other team has fewer than three such wins). Over that span, the Caps have 16 non-shootout losses in which their opponent scored two or fewer and, going back one more season, the Caps are still at the bottom of that initial list of low-goal wins.

After last night's loss, Braden Holtby noted the familiarity of the situation, saying, "We've been in that situation very often last year and that's something we're really going to have to get stronger at, those tight games, those low-scoring games." Indeed.
