Your savory breakfast links:

  • Yesterday was "How much is Marcus Johansson worth?" day. [us, WaPo, CSNW]
  • It was also "Nate Schmidt wore a camera on his helmet" day. [WaPo, RMNB, with more on Schmidt at CSNW]
  • Last year's Caps were lucky (but not as lucky as the 2009-10 squad). Humble request: save some luck for the post-season, going forward. [Hockey Abstract]
  • All of Alex Ovechkin's 2013 tallies, in painstaking detail. [FanPost]
  • Looking back at last month's draft. [HF]
  • Tom Wilson showed Andre Burakovsky a thing or two last week. [CSNW]
  • Unrelated (or is it?), Burakovsky may play in Erie next season after all. [GoErie (h/t sk8)]
  • Mike Green can move some product. [Caps Outsider]
  • GMGM is glad that Matt Hendricks got paid (and, presumably, that he's not the one stroking those checks). [RMNB]
  • Monumental hopes mobile can make Monumental monumental. [PressBox]
  • Unlike the declarations of their parent club, the Bears aren't done putting together their 2013-14 roster. [Patriot-News]
  • Remembering the Goal Dust Twins. [Mr. I]
  • Former Cap draft pick and Baltimore Skipjacks netminder Shawn Simpson has been through some stuff. Who knew? Not me. [Ottawa Sun (h/t b.orr4)]
  • Finally, happy birthday to Mikhail Tatarinov, who turns 47 today. Tatarinov was drafted in the 11th round of the 1984 Draft, when drafting players from the Eastern Bloc was still rare and risky (unlike now, when it's only risky... right, Evgeny Kuznetsov?) He made his NHL debut in 1990, and, unfortunately, had a promising NHL career derailed by injuries, retiring after playing just 161 games in the League.
