The Noon Number: Dynamic Duos Doing Damage

A look at some of the NHL's top teammates

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

83 - Combined point total (39 goals, 44 assists) for Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom, tied for the fifth-highest mark for teammates so far this season. Backstrom and Ovechkin are the top two power-play point-getters in the League (with 24 and 22, respectively), which is, of course, nice... but neither is among the top-50 even-strength scorers, which will likely need to change if the Caps want to make any noise in the Eastern Conference.

Anyway, the top six point-scoring tandems:

Team Player 1 Player 2 Total Points
Pittsburgh Sidney Crosby (20G, 34A) Evgeni Malkin (9G, 32A) 95
Pittsburgh Sidney Crosby (20G, 34A) Chris Kunitz (20G, 19A) 93
Anaheim Ryan Getzlaf (19G, 25A) Corey Perry (22G, 19A) 85
Chicago Patrick Kane (22G, 27A) Patrick Sharp (18G, 18A) 85
Chicago Patrick Kane (22G, 27A) Jonathan Toews (13G, 21A) 83
Washington Alex Ovechkin (30G, 11A) Nicklas Backstrom (9G, 33A) 83
