A reunited top trio worked a beautiful cycle that culminated with Marcus Johansson feeding Alex Ovechkin (as he has been wont to do) for a snipe to cut the lead to one just over three minutes into the stanza. Eight minutes later, it was Michael Latta‘s first NHL goal which tied the game:
