Your savory breakfast links:

  • Recaps and other assorted musings on last night's win from us (with quotes), Vogs, Monumental video (Oates, Oleksy, Holtby, Erat, Ward, LaichRichards, Jax room), Capitals Voice calls (Laich, Ward, Ovechkin, Brouwer), NHL.com, WaPo (gamer, blog, Five Thoughts), PHT, Peerless, Frankovic, CSNW, RMNB, and DSP, and from the Lumbus side of things, The Cannon and Columbus Dispatch.
  • News and notes from yesterday's morning skate:
    • In general. [Monumental video (Two-Man Advantage, Rinkside Update (Erat), Oates, Ward, Volpatti), WaPo, CSNW]
    • Oh hai there line changes! Lots of folk in new color pracky sweaters:
      • Shake hands, gents. Martin Erat to 2L, Brooks Laich to 2C, Mikhail Grabovski to 3C, Eric Fehr to 4C, Aaron Volpatti in and Jay Beagle to Nacho City. The D-Pairs changed up too with Nate Schmidt to the left of Mike Green and Carlznerson reunited. [Dump 'n' Chase, WaPo, DSP]
    • Martin Erat finally saw his patience rewarded, though perhaps it was as much his coach's patience running out. [Fansided, WaPo, CSNW (and again)]
  • Dmitry Orlov had a pretty monster game for the Hershey Bears, notching a goal and an assist on all three of the remaining goals as the Bears blanked the JohnnyJets 4-0 and split their two-game weekend set and recorded its first W on the season. Oh, and Philipp Grubauer was pretty good too. [Patriot-News, SHoE, NHL.com]
  • Congrats once again and a stick salute to the Caps ECHL affiliate Reading Royals, who raised their Kelly Cup championship banner and then defeated the South Carolina Stingrays 32 in a shootout. [Royals Hockey]
  • Finally, happy 35th birthday to Mike Farrell.
