    • An interesting new twist in the new agreement is a section that allows teams to trade a player but retain part of his contract. Confused? Mirtle's got you covered. [Globe and Mail]
    • More details are emerging about the 2013 schedule, set to be officially unveiled as soon as the players vote. [Puck Daddy]

  • ...with the exception of one very important face who is instead headed to Michigan to visit a specialist. Ruh-roh. [WTOP, Wash Times (and again and again), Examiner, WaPo (and again), CSNW, RMNB]
  • They may be back, but forgiving and forgetting does not seem to be part of the pre-training camp menu. [CSNW]
  • The Caps are getting ready for Verizon Center - now it's time for Verizon Center to get ready for the Caps. It's so... so... beautiful. [WTOP, Caps OT]
  • There will be questions a-plenty surrounding the Caps this year - here are the answers to at least a few of them. [CSNW]
  • Defenseman Jack Hillen may be new to the Caps, but he's familiar with at least one aspect of his new team - Alex Ovechkin's slapshot. Ouch. [Dump 'n Chase]
  • Fresh off his gold medal-winning stint with Team USA at the World Juniors, Caps' prospect Riley Barber talks about winning it all. [Caps Outsider]
  • Welcome back, hockey... we really did miss you. And if nothing else, that's one of the silver linings of the lockout. [Caps Outsider, Sick Unbelievable]
  • Former Cap Mike Knuble is still looking for a deal, but he should be able to find one. Best of luck, Mike (as long as it's not with Pittsburgh). [Wash Times]
  • Everything Ovechkin's been up to over the course of the lockout... in thirty seconds. Bam! [Caps Basketball]
  • Speaking of the captain, he's given downtown Russian restaurant Mari Vanna two enthusiastic thumbs up (and a free autograph, to boot). [WaPo]
  • Finally, happy 23rd birthday to Real American Hero John Carlson and happy 33rd to Rastislav Stana.
