The Noon Number

New, comments

1.05 - The number of shots on goal allowed, per minute, by the Capitals' penalty kill so far this season, which is the third-worst mark in the League so far (only Columbus and Florida are worse) and is up more than 25% from last season's 0.80.

One contributing factor? The team's shorthanded faceoff win percentage currently sits at 50.8%, down sharply from 2010-11's 59.7%, in large part due to Brooks Laich having won just 28% of his team-high 25 shorthanded draws.
