The
Colorado Avalanche have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent defenseman
Curtis Leschyshyn, reports TSN.ca. The
Quebec Nordiques (you remember them) originally drafted Leschyshyn 3rd overall in 1988 (after
Mike Modano and
Trevor Linden), so the blueliner returns to the franchise with whom he broke into the League.
Back in 1996, the Caps traded
Keith Jones and a couple of picks to the Avs for Leschyshyn and
Chris Simon, only to flip Leschyshyn to
Hartford a week later for
Andrei Nikolishin.
Quebec. Hartford. Good times.
