Hershey Bears Celebrate the game winning goal in OT by Chris Borque. Not the greatest picture, but a good time! Best part... Borque pushed away his teammates to do an individual sliding on his knees celebration (ala a certain American Hero) and then when done looked to his teammates like "Hey? How come nobody's hugging me!"
The Hershey Bears have been so amazing this year, it seems appropriate that they have been chosen to host the AHL All-Star Game in 2011, in the season that marks the 75th anniversary for the League. It is especially exciting that the AHL has chosen a return to the East vs. West format, rather than Canada vs. Everybody Else.

Along with Sombrero Guy and chockster, I've been keeping an eye on the AHL this weekend, watching Nyls and Flash in their respective minor league debuts. All I work with is the Gamesheet provided for each game at the official AHL website, and any errors or misinterpretations of the data are mine. First up - FlashWatch: Flash went 0,1,+1 today with 2 SOG, combining with Kyle Wilson to hit up Andrew Gordon for his sixth goal of the season (and Second Star of the Game). And although Perreault was sent to the Box of Shame for a four-minute double minor high-sticking penalty, Joudrey and Pinizzotto managed to sneak in the game-winning shorty goal while on that PK and the Bears win today 3-2. NylsWatch: Back at the Grand Rapids Ranch, Nylander went 0,2,+1 with 1 SOG, hitting up J. Tardif on PPs for goals number 2 & 3 on the day for a hat trick and First Star of the Game, as well as goals number 3 & 4 on the season. The Griffins won the game 6-1 and are now 3-0 in the Nylander Era.
Hershey Bears got their Calder Cup rings, and John Walton lets us admire his. I particularly like the "chocolate diamond" detail. Way to go B'ars!
"The latest nameplate for the Calder Cup, the one featuring the champion Hershey Bears, arrived at the Giant Center just in time for the season opener on Saturday night against the Norfolk Admirals. The nameplate includes members of the championship winning team, coaches and trainers." - The Patriot News
