41 – Points for Nicklas Backstrom (10 goals, 31 assists) registered on goals scored with the Caps holding a lead so far this season. Those 41 points are ten more than the League’s second-ranked “leading” scorers (Brad Marchand and Nikita Kucherov), per Corsica.hockey.
Interestingly enough, Backstrom doesn’t lead the League in five-on-five points while leading – that distinction belongs to teammate Evgeny Kuznetsov, whose 23 five-on-five points with the Caps up is one more than another Cap, Alex Ovechkin, and two ahead of Backstrom (and Sidney Crosby and Brandon Saad).
