1. For the second time in as many games, a Cap is probably going to be in some hot water.

Mike Sullivan says the Orpik hit on Maatta is the “type everyone in hockey is trying to remove from the game.”

Trotz says he spoke to Orpik and Orpik told him he thought the puck was going to be there when he hit Maatta

The League is definitely going to take a look at that, as they should, and will likely hand down some sort of punishment, as they should. Brooks Orpik isn’t necessarily a predatory player in general but that’s a predatory play, whether an accident or not, and the fact that Olli Maatta apparently suffered a concussion on the play (which the Penguins were quick to announce) will make that all the worse.
Of course, it’s the NHL during the playoffs, so just how steep a punishment Orpik is set to receive is really anyone’s guess.
2. This is somehow no goal… AND a penalty on Evgeny Kuznetsov? K.

The no-goal call is reasonable – there’s absolutely no way that Matt Murray could have managed to make a save, what with 192 pounds of Russian landing on top of him. But the only reason Kuznetsov falls on him in the first place is because he gets his feet taken out from under him by a Pittsburgh defender (shortly after getting crosschecked by another one).
Also, this really is a shame.
I should sleep eventually, but can we agree that disallowing this goal is a bummer solely for ruining this celly? pic.twitter.com/YUrIq36Bt6

3. Of course it was him. Of course.

Nate Schmidt sums it up perfectly:
Lousy turncoat.
