2016 World Cup of Hockey: Team Canada

Back in September, Braden Holtby was one of many potential goaltenders in the running for a spot in net for Team Canada; as he continues his stellar season, however, it became more of a given that one of the spots would go to him.

That was confirmed this evening as Holtby was named to the preliminary roster for Team Canada, rounding out the goaltending trio along with Corey Crawford and Carey Price.

This will be just the second time Holtby has represented his home country, the other one limited to a one-game appearance at the World Junior A Challenge Tournament back in 2006-07.
