The Noon Number: Reset the Clock

593 – Number of days that have passed since the last time the Caps dropped two regular-season games in a row in regulation.

Before falling to the Oilers last night and the Rangers on Saturday, their last two-game losing streak in regulation was all the way back in the 2014-15 campaign, when they followed up a mid-March 3-2 loss to the Rangers with a 4-2 loss to Dallas. That’s an incredibly impressive 99 games in a row, covering parts of three seasons (including the entire 2015-16 season), without losing consecutive games in regulation – with an equally impressive 68-21-10 record over that span.

Now… time to start a new streak.
