Troy Brouwer kicked off Washignton’s offense 19 seconds into the second period by firing a bouncing puck past Pekka Rinne and bringing the Verizon Center to life. Seven minutes later he would pierce Pekka again with a shorthanded slapshot that found its way past the Predator goalie’s glovehand.
Unfortuantely old friend Mike Ribeiro would extend Nashville’s lead to two goals with his 15th of the year from Filip Forsberg less than five minutes later, and that’s where we stand with twenty minutes left to play.
