With no morning skate today it’s anyone’s guess as to what tonight’s lines might look like, but newcomer Tim Gleason (acquired yesterday) is expected to make his Caps debut, while Curtis Glencross (acquired earlier today) is not). So, based on yesterday’s practice, here’s a look at what the lines and defensive pairings might look like against the Leafs, with Braden Holtby (presumably) between the pipes:
Alex Ovechkin – Nicklas Backstrom – Marcus Johansson
Andre Burakovsky – Evgeny Kuznetsov – Troy Brouwer
Jason Chimera – Eric Fehr – Joel Ward
Brooks Laich – Jay Beagle – Tom Wilson
That would leave Justin Peters backing up Holtby, Michael Latta and Glencross as healthy scratches, and Dmitry Orlov and John Erskine still on the IR.
