- From Elias: Alex Ovechkin tied Peter Bondra‘s record for most career multiple-goal games for the Capitals (93) when he scored the first two goals in Washington’s 4-0 win against Pittsburgh. Bondra played 14 seasons for the Capitals (1990-91 to 2003-04), while Ovechkin is in his 10th season. Since 2005-06, Ovechkin’s first season in the league, the only players who are within 40 of his multi-goal-game total are Jarome Iginla (66), Sidney Crosby (59) and Rick Nash (53).
