The Noon Number: All-Right is Alright?

91 – Number of goals scored by the Caps’ right-wings (Alex Ovechkin, Troy Brouwer, Joel Ward and Tom Wilson) on the season, with the top-three combining for 88 of them and filling out the top-three spots on the team in goals.

As a point of reference, the team’s left wings have scored just 32 goals (in 27 more man-games than the RW’s 266, and including Marcus Johansson and Brooks Laich here), centers have scored 41 (in 15 fewer man-games, and including Eric Fehr here), and the defensemen have scored 32 (in 420 man-games). It’s worth noting, of course, that the right wings have benefited heavily from the power-play (on which Ovechkin plays on the left side and Brouwer and Ward in the middle of the ice) and even-strength goal totals look a little different – the right wings have scored 51 goals, centers 41, defensemen 24 and left wings 23.
