Today's Number looks at winning the hard way, something Braden Holtby has made a bit more common than most of his predecessors.
The Noon Number: 4 - Number of games the Capitals have won since November, 2006 in which they had 21 or fewer shots on goal of their own and allowed 35 or more shots against (something that, per Hockey-Reference.com, the team has only done 23 times since the start of the 1987-88 campaign).
The three most recent of these wins have come with Braden Holtby in net: Sunday's shutout victory in Winnipeg (the third shutout on the list, joining a pair of Olie Kolzig wins during the magical 1998 playoff run), last year's final regular season game against the Rangers, and Game 4 of last year's Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against tomorrow night's opponent, the Boston Bruins.
