The Noon Number: The Return of Gabby

Greg Fiume

A look at a tale of two coaches

.611 - Bruce Boudreau's regular-season winning percentage as Capitals head coach, tops in franchise history. Tonight at Verizon Center, Boudreau will face the man who's number two on that list, Adam Oates (.548).

Of further note on Boudreau, he has the second-best career regular-season points percentage of any active coach (minimum 40 games coached) at .663 (Dan Bylsma is at .677; Oates is ninth on that list at.589). And interestingly enough, the man with the highest playoff winning percentage in Caps history is the coach that bridged the gap between Boudreau and Oates - Dale Hunter, whose Caps won half of the 14 games he coached in his one spring behind the bench.
