7 – Number of times Alex Ovechkin has scored to tie a game in the final minute of regulation in his career, three more than any other player in the League since the 2004-05 lockout. Via Elias:
Washington beat the Flyers in a shootout after Alex Ovechkin’s score-tying goal with 47.9 seconds remaining in regulation time completed the Capitals‘ comeback from a 4-1 third-period deficit. It was the seventh score-tying goal in the final minute of the third period in Ovechkin’s NHL career and his second such goal in six days. Ovechkin tied the score at the 19:27 mark of the third period in the Capitals’ game against Tampa Bay on Tuesday, but his last such goal before this week was in November 2008. No other player has scored more than four last-minute tying goals since Ovechkin made his NHL debut in October 2005.
