Obviously the 50% efficient power play is driving the bus here, but at 81.8%, the penalty kill is in the middle of the pack and picking up where it left off last year – over the final 24 games of the 2013 regular season, the Caps successfully killed off 81.2% of opponents’ power plays (which would have been good enough for 15th in the League over the course of the season) before killing off 26 of New York’s 28 chances in the playoffs.
