3 – Number of Caps goals that have been assisted by both John Carlson and Karl Alzner, with the third coming on Joel Ward‘s goal last night. Note – that’s not three this season, that’s three ever. In more than 2100 minutes skating alongside one another, the only other Caps tallies on which the two blueliners have each gotten an assist came on the Brooks Laich lamplighter against Montreal on March 15, 2011 and the Alex Ovechkin strike against Nashville on December 20, 2011 below:
