I just watched it in the Pitt/Bos game. Boston’s play for the bulk of the game looked….awfully familiar.

The way their season is gone as a team… seems it would be an easy mentality to latch on to any play as an example of “the problem”
MTL announcers said all their PK is doing is focusing on not letting Ovi shoot and if the Caps adjust to this they should see more success there in this game. (But if you’re just standing there watching the puck slide thru an open goal mouth in front of you I don’t know how you’re going to score more)

Those last two minutes of the period are the Caps season in a nutshell.
1) Carlson gathers puck in D-zone while Habs line change.
2) Carlson stands stationary.
3) Carlson waits for Habs player to approach him.
4) Carlson and Alzner commence back-and-forth passing the puck behind the net, while stationary.
5) Habs forecheckers converge.
6) Alzner forced to make terrible pass.
7) Turnover.
8) 2 minutes of possession for Habs.
The keyboard is mightier.
It was a great pass…just not to any Capitals.

I asked this too late in the 2nd pd thread. Is this what it’s like to watch the London Knights? I can’t imagine this is what GMGM was enamored with.

It worked for the Knights because the Knights were pretty much superior in every way to the competition. 1 v 1 is much easier when you’re team is better in every part of the game.

Agree and understand on the personnel side. However, gotta think GMGM is bummed about this team under DH.

I think you have to give him at least the start of next year so he’ll have a whole offseason. If things didn’t improve next year, I think we could be coachless come next fall too.
