The Noon Number
7 - Number of hat tricks the Washington Capitals have notched against the Ottawa Senators, the most they have against any single team (tied with Tampa Bay).
Four of those seven have come in Ottawa (where the two teams will play tonight), including a four-goal game for Alex Ovechkin, a three-goal game for Alexander Semin, and three- and four-goal games for Peter Bondra. The other three hatties were banked at home by Ovechkin, Bondra and Todd Krygier.

I look at that pic, and the only thing I can think of is, “huh, and I thought it was only the Caps who left forwards get below both D to the top of the crease”

I’ll call it: Perry with his second hat trick of the season against the Sens.

The Caps traded for Corey Perry?

Sounds like Ovi might be a scratch-
@SWhyno Doesn’t look good for Ovechkin tonight now after just 8 minutes on ice

Ok – the Republican debate or (if you knew this was coming tonite:) a rerun of Monday night’s AHL-level performance Capitals, now with less Ovi?

The Todd Krygier Hattie...
…was the stuff of legends. It was the return match of a home-and-home, where the Caps lost 6-5 in the first one up in Ottawa. Krygier led the Caps with 3 goals and a helper in an 8-4 revenge win.

The previous visit by Ottawa to Washington that season was an interesting affair to, with the Caps winning 11-2, The Caps bagged 5 goals against starter Darren Madeley, and then buried 6 goals on future Caps back-up goalie Craig Billington (on 12 shots). Both teams came to the game with the big fighters too, as the Caps dressed Alan May, Craig Berube and Enrico Ciccone, while Ottawa brought Bill Huard and Dennis Vial.
