Third Period Open Thread
Huge goal from Orlov at the end of the period. Can they make it matter in the third?

but it’s been all San Jose…make sure you get the narrative right. No way we should have more than 1 goal either.

When the announcer said, “This is why Washington doesn’t want to be down 3 goals. SJ plays D…(etc)”
When would any team want to be down 3 goals? The guy’s off his rocker. As if for some teams, this down by 3 thing is great, but just not tonight against SJ.

its been a rough road, and not many wins of late, but I liked the o generation of late. It is what I personally asked for. But granted 1000x it doesn’t mean a lot if they can’t win games.
I do like watching them work the o zone, and I don’t think its too much passing in general. Just the windups on shots, shot selection sometimes…

I don’t generally wish bodily harm on someone, but when I do, I wish it on Mike Milbury.

I want him to have just one, soul-crushing moment of self-awareness in which he feels all the shame for his craven hypermasculine posing that a normal human would saying the shit that comes out of his mouth. And an elbow to the noggin.

That was awful. Says he is annoyed how much Pleckanic played up that hit because he got back into the game and scored when it comes to concussions the symptoms don’t come on right away. Idiot Milbury.

His alleged shaking of a young child by the face mask during a youth league game show indicates he is possibly a fan of dirty, cheap shots.
Given how quickly they had clips of “elbow to the head” incidents I bet they had that so called disagreement set up ahead of the game.

Mike Milbury reaches a new low
I literally couldn’t believe the pure horseshit Milbury just spewed out of his mouth.
His macho man bullshit is everything wrong with how hockey people treat physicality and concussions.
And note his silence when Niklas Backstrom is brought up. Also, notice when Volchenkov is mentioned, it’s all of the sudden a “bad hit”.
I hope he’s suspended for that ignorant rant.
Holtby is scaring me.

nacho duty is maybe one thing that frustrates me most this season. Too many contracts floatin’ around up in the booth willy nilly. Hamrlik, Hendricks at times, now Perr Jay Beagle playin’ every game. Serious personnel weirdness. Dudes we started this year with DJ King in the line up. Weird times.

Honestly, if I were told to choose the team that I’d least like to play right now, I would’ve probably chosen San Jose.
The Sharks are probably one of the strongest team at center in the entire league. The Caps, probably one of the weakest.
Hunter’s strategy relies on players exactly like Backstrom and Green to move the puck very quickly through the neutral zone and set up great, high percentage scoring chances. It’s going to be a tough road until one of the two get back
Soon the Championship with be ours, all ours!
Sharks fan here
To say the announcers aren’t ours, but I apologize for them anyway. They’re seriously pissing me off with how much they’re acting like rabid fanboys. And I’m a sharks fan, can’t imagine how bad it must be from your end.
And yet the Sharks aren’t getting the all-night loving that the Rangers were yesterday…

Those are the type of D zone shifts I hate from Ovie. I know the puck isn’t in his area for most of it, but look a little engaged in the play and less like you’re coasting.
