Second Period Open Thread
Lots of action. A few goalposts. An untimely whistle that prevented a Caps goal. Some brutal defensive zone breakdowns. Add it all up and it's only 1-0 Rangers.

Milbury didn’t miss a chance to trash Semin
Pledge Drive 2011-2012: CARSON KOLZIG FOUNDATION! Season Pledge total--$1328.52!
What did I miss? I’m kind of multitasking, so only half paying attention.
"The Caps fan doesn't say, 'is the glass half full' or 'is the glass half empty'. He wonders when the glass is going to spill."
called him a dog, completely overrated, a worthless contract.
Pledge Drive 2011-2012: CARSON KOLZIG FOUNDATION! Season Pledge total--$1328.52!
To be fair, part of that has been true. But from Milbury, yeah, not so much.
"The Caps fan doesn't say, 'is the glass half full' or 'is the glass half empty'. He wonders when the glass is going to spill."
I found it extremely offensive. He called him a yapping dog, said this French poodle was Russian, said he had no bark or bite. It was offensive in the extreme, IMO.
I can’t believe he’s back on the air after assaulting a kid. That was a good few days there.

I can only hope Milbury has a daughter and #28 knocks her up.

Oh My GOD! I have never seen anything as offensive as Milbury’s piece on Sasha. It may actually inspire me to write a complaint to NBC.
not the first time he’s called a Capital a dog. He did it to Ovie’s face.
Ovie then said, “You are like little kitty. Meow.”
Pledge Drive 2011-2012: CARSON KOLZIG FOUNDATION! Season Pledge total--$1328.52!
And Ovi got the better of it because it was to his face. I am incensed at that. It is just not okay.
Steinberg used to keep a running account of all the things Milbury said that were offensive to the Caps because he used to do it so frequently. He had toned it down a bit, but this is definitely “classic Milbury”
Pledge Drive 2011-2012: CARSON KOLZIG FOUNDATION! Season Pledge total--$1328.52!
Dare I say that Milbury bares a much stronger resemblance to a dog than Ovi.

I am afraid of the answer but does anyone know if NBC hired Milbury for next year? Please, please say no. Surely, the sports dept. must know what an incompetent dick he is.
Yeah, they’re replacing him with Barry Melrose.

My favorite “shut the fuck up, NBC” moment was the Winter Classic. The pre-game coverage was a 48-hour Penguin lovefest. That part of the victory was more exciting for me than the HBO coverage.

two of the things that irk me about this crew, beyond the slurping, are the constant use of “WOULD NOT GO” in reference to a shot that doesn’t result in a goal, and when they say “the puck skitters by”. I always think of
