The Noon Number
6 - Consecutive games entering Monday night's match-up with the Caps in which the Los Angeles Kings have yielded one or no goals to their opponents. (Amazingly, the Kings have won just three of those half-dozen games, getting shutout twice by a 1-0 score and losing a shootout after being tied 1-1 after 65 minutes).
Los Angeles is the lowest-scoring team in the League, but goaltender Jonathan Quick is 18-11-6/1.93/.934 on the season and 5-1-2/1.10/.958 under still-new bench boss Darryl Sutter. In fact, today's Number also represents Quick's League-leading six shutouts.

Lovely time to be without our leading scorer.

On the plus side, the Kings play coin flips – a bounce one way or another could very well decide this one (as opposed to, say, trying to get into a track meet with a team when you’re clearly out-manned).

What about the Caps’ being tied for league-leading “Times Shut Out” = 0. (Also Pittsburgh, Ottawa, and Columbus)
No jinx.
Yes, please win. Get back into playoff position and kick the Pens out. Oh, how I’d love that! Id especially love it since my locally born neighbor is a Steeler (Tebowed), and Pens fan. Traitor I say.

I know no Kings fans. And, even if I did, I would not be talking any smack against them anyhow, given the Caps track record against that particular team and the fact that they are so decimated in personnel. (Okay, things are subject to change but….)

LA Caps fans, Come strong tonight!!!
I can’t wait! And with the players nixing the new schedule, who knows if they even come back next year! GO CAPS!!!!

I watched the recent game on 1/2 that the Kings lost to the Avs in a shootout 2-1. Quick was good in that game but Varly was amazing and outplayed him (Varly had lots of insane saves down low). Quick probably doesn’t get outplayed too often. Varly has been crazy hot though this season in shootouts/penalty shots.
