The Noon Number
60.5 - Percentage of games played by all four Capitals "Young Guns" (Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, Mike Green and Alexander Semin) since all four have been on the roster (221 of 365 games over the past four-plus seasons). The Caps are 138-55-28 in the regular season with the quartet playing, and 17-19 in the playoffs.
Green "finally" returns to the lineup tonight against Calgary... but Semin will miss the game, as he's listed as "day-to-day."

Wow…that’s almost just as telling of a stat. 2 less (regulation) losses, but 61 less wins.

Welcome back, Greener. Take it easy tonight in the corners.

Crazy too when you think about the fact that Backstrom played some 82 game seasons in that stretch.
Glad to hear Green is back…as long as he’s truly is 100% ready to be so.

No question he’ll be a target. Big question is if someone is who’s going to break faces when it happens.
Cross check and all call.
I thought about that, but ultimately think that they will simply play him honest – which is to say they won’t lay up on him. If he gets injured it will be from overskating the groin. But that’s just an opinion, we’ll see tonight.
Somewhere in my head there’s a game in the last couple of seasons where both teams (not these two teams) debuted their players who were recovering from serious knee injuries. Finding a good match-up game for bringing in long layoff guys is certainly desirable if possible.
Tonight they’re playing against Mike Green’s former line-mate and protector on a team outside the conference.
No, I don't think I'll ever get over Macho Grande
Wait a second, that’s B Mo isn’t it, not Sha Mo,
Where is Sha Mo anyway? The other part is true at least.
The rest apparently is all lies.
No, I don't think I'll ever get over Macho Grande
ShaMo is in the AHL with the Amerks, last time I knew. He was paired with Joe Finley, oddly enough.
Failure is always an option.
Ah, a premature “promotion” to potentate protector of prospective puck-moving prodigies, pity

Means a lot more scratches for the sarge?
Unless Orlov is sent down. I like Orlov’s playing so far. He’s got a cannon too.
Both him and Erskine, as long as Green is healthy and they’re playing 12 forwards.
Failure is always an option.
I don’t think that 55 will be in many more games but then again it is not like he was playing much even with Green out. The biggest problem is 55 is a poor mans 44 and now that Hammer is playing better I don’t expect to see much of 55 which is sad because if used right he can be a good second pairing D man but there isn’t a place on this team with this system right now.
He’s got the accuracy of one, too.
Seriously, though, I do like Orlov.

Ha. Reminds me of when Ovi damn-near killed Feds when he scored the G7 goal against the Rangers.

And the time when he brutally mugged Semin after scoring the game-winner in Game 1 of the Rangers series last season. I was sure he had injured him there.
