Eakin charged him? Elbowed Chara?

I went to eat with about 8 minutes left and just came back to watch the end.
Other than the first five minutes and the goal, I thought the boys held their own.

I’m watching NBC SportsTalk and Milbury loves the fact that Ovie skipped out on the ASG. Haha
What say you, hockey gods???
Is he supporting Ovi, or hating Ovi?

Other hits went explained. But because Shanahan’s decision making process is apparently arbitrary, nothing for Michalek.

by Steckel Me Elmo on Jan 24, 2012 8:00 PM EST up reply actions
Shanahan’s thought process:
1. I am against shots to the head
2. Zdenek Michalek avoided contact with all parts of Hendricks’ body, electing instead to crush Hendricks’ helmet against the glass in an apparent attempt to smoosh it and everything inside it like a grape
3. The helmet is ON the head, but is not the head.
4. Ergo: this is not a “headshot”
5. No ban!

Guys got to help him out no one on the wall at all to give the puck to so it was either that or ice it again. I know this was worse but with no Caps on the near side to pass to they have to help him out and get open too.
In soccer you learn at age 7 or 8 never to pass it across the middle as a D. I’m assuming in hockey this is also an important tactic.
"If I knew then what I know now, that woulda messed it up somehow" - Roy Drusky
It is but at the same time how often have we thrown it up the wall had no one there and the other team kept the puck in and scored or gotten chances. Wrong move by Carlson but it wasn’t like he had good options either.
Would rather throw it up the side wall then into the middle for a pick-off. Still your point stands, our clears are some of the most atrocious I’ve seen since I started watching hockey. No options up the wall or in mid-ice.
