@TheGoalieGuild
#Isles goalie Evgeni Nabokov is 9-1-0 with a 2.18 GAA and .929 SV% (1 SO) lifetime against the #Caps
You perhaps knew me better as "Your Nation's Capital." Same great commentary, now with 100% more transparency!
Also,
And Vokoun is 14-6-1 with a 2.07 GAA and .934 SV% (4 SO) lifetime vs. #Isles. Battle of two goalies that love staying up on skates LOL.

CSN posts production meeting notes, if you’ve never noticed them before.
Make sure to join Joe B. and Locker right on time tonight. The Islanders have given up a goal on the first shot of the game nine times this season.

Good thing the Isles have never done anything wrong on the ice
Everything ends badly...otherwise it wouldn't end.

The whole section over Tavares not being included in Neil’s Top 25 players-under-25 list was thoroughly entertaining as well.
I was trained to mix concrete and sign complicated insurance forms.
going to tonight's game.
Hope this game will be a great one

Hello Rink. Back from SC.. watched the Checkers beat the Griffins while I was down there. Odd place.. they have a stage taking one of the sections of the 100 level up where cheerdancettes of some variety groove for what seemed like the entire game. Cardio. Also, the PA interacts with the crowd – when announcing a goal, he states, “He shoots”, at which point the whole crowd yells, “He scores!” before the goal is announced. (Home only, obviously.) It’s cool, has sort of a minor league vibe to it, I dig it. Surprisingly good crowd too.. metro area, pretty far drive from Raleigh, makes sense.
The nicest part of all was listening to a national anthem without “RED” or “OH”. That crap has to stop.
Let’s go Caps!

Yea, Charlotte is actually in NC, though right on the SC border. I also went to a checkers game there once and liked the atmosphere. The He shoots – he scores thing is pretty funny with all the southern accents doing it at once really loud. Glad you had a good time
I don’t say “red” or “O”, but it isn’t that big of a deal to me. I am glad there is something particular to the Caps. We can’t really pick and choose what a crowd does; hence mob mentality.
I’m all for you starting something new. Get a bunch of guys/gals together and start shouting something different.
We all just want to get involved and cheer the team on to victory.

from Islander game notes
They have their own Hammer issues:
Hammer Time: Travis Hamonic has been on the ice for nine of the last 11 Islanders goals.
Isles haven’t lost this season when leading after the 1st period.
Matt Martin leads the NHL in hits
The Game Notes on the Isles website is pages and pages of mostly useless junk, but kinda cool to sift through
No, I don't think I'll ever get over Macho Grande
I wonder if P.A. Parenteau is available from the Island. He cost the Islanders a 7th round pick in a trade with the Rangers. If they turned him around and traded him to a contending team they would have great returns for the 53 point season he’s having himself at age 28.
Maybe he’s found his stride with the Islanders and they want to keep him around as part of the “core”; but, I’ve seen that organization do much more unexpected things.
Soon the Championship with be ours, all ours!
Oh jeez, per Corey, at the Oilers game
#Oilers Taylor Hall left the ice during warmups. @GenePrincipe says he may have been cut by a skate. Yikes. I couldn’t tell what happened.
That'll make your weagle wink!

McKenzie adds info
Taylor Hall suffers deep cut over eye after falling in warm-up and getting sliced by teammate’s skate. Getting stitched. May still play. TBA

Ouch! Fortunately (sorta) those kind of things are more dramatic looking than hugely dangerous. Having a skate that close to the face, on the other hand… lucky kid not to have gotten worse.
Dingos are involved. Best not to ask.
Per Bob McKenzie:
Cut over Taylor Hall’s eye is quite deep and may require more extensive repairs.

Which DC sports team has the Most Valuable Players? That would be DC United, a team being pushed out by the city. Help Keep United in DC so they can receive a fair deal on a lease and help develop a path to build a stadium with local investment and incentives.
