And he wants to be here another 10 years, because Washington is his second home. Granted, his responses are standard safe, little-substance athlete responses, but it is nice to hear, and I’ll take him at his word.

probably the first time ever Semin’s given the stock answers. He sure doesn’t in his Russian interviews.

It is very meaningful for Semin to speak in English

Though it was very short, it was extremely meaningful for Semin to speak in English. I am pleased he did that – and frankly, a bit shocked. No one doubts his abilities, but many have questioned his attitude. I am very proud of him for doing this – it must have been hard.

Agreed, Earthquake shakes Washington - Skins are 2 - 0 and Semin speaks English

So what’s next folks? I was shocked – told my wife who is in the hospital tonight and she is going down to the lounge to try and listen to the interview. She was truly shocked – Semin has always been her favorite player.

Even if he had help, this is huge....

He likely had a decent set-up to make this event easier for him, but I still give him huge kudos. I can tell you this: his English is much better than my Russian !!!

I'm glad he has done an interview in English now,

but Alex has been here for now for over a good number of years and been on this side of the Atlantic. Unrealistic that he’d not be able to speak conversational English at all, even two years ago, even if he had translators,etc. around him.

Makes him a lot more personable to the fans nevertheless, so I’m happy.
