A Farewell To Fehr

Bon Chance, Eric Fehr! Caps fans everywhere will miss the guy who, despite extended stays in Bruce's doghouse, had a flair for the dramatic on the biggest stage. Hard working, humble, unabashed lover of country music, prolific tweeter who announced his new contract on Twitter (an NHL first), and possessing shoulders made of glass, Fehr also inspired his very own "Saves Kittens!" picture

So best of luck to Eric Fehr as he return to Manitoba to led his childhood team to the promised land of the playoffs. Us Caps fans are proud to say the Fehr represented us well and will be remembered fondly.

Here's Fehr's finest moment, on possibly the worst ice ever. And did you know ice is wet? And Eric Fehr is bad ass? Yeah, I did too.

What a great shot, Fleury doesn’t move until the puck is in the net.

Of course the side note is that Fehr injured his shoulder raising his arms to celebrate… ;-)

I’ll miss Eric Fehr but it was, unfortunately, the most logical move to make to dump salary and clear space to sign Alzner (which we hope happens soon but judging from the recent news…..)

I'll never forget

my favorite Caps game i’ve ever seen in person. Game 2 2010 ECQF. Down 1-0 in the series, 2-0 in the game, Fehr had a breakaway and beat Halak to get the momentum. If he didn’t score, it would have been a short series. Small but memorable moment.
