- Prospect playoff update (courtesy Emily):
- Brett Flemming and the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors are 25% of the way to the OHL Championship as they defeated the Owen Sound Attack 5-2 in Game One. Brett was plus-2 on the night and on-ice for no goals against.
- Stan Galiev and the Saint John Sea Dogs finally know who their opponent will be in the Q Finals, which begin on Thursday. The Gatineau Olympiques clawed their way back from a 3-1 series hole against the Quebec Remparts and claimed victory in Game Seven last night. The Sea Dogs will be missing an important offensive weapon with the loss (to shoulder injury) of Michael Kirkpatrick.
- Cody Eakin and the Kootenay Ice also know their adversary for the WHL championship Ed Chynoweth Cup. They will play Ryan Johansen and the Portland Winterhawks. The series begins on Friday and Portland will have home ice. A nice series preview is here.
- Finally, this isn’t Caps- (or even really sports-) related, but our good buddies Chad Dukes and Danny Rouhier are doing a comedy gig that you should really check out if you can. Lord knows we could all use a bit of humor these days…
