124 - Days since the Capitals last had sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference (for more than 18 hours), dating back to early December when they held a two-point lead over second place Pittsburgh, a four-point lead over third place Montreal and a seven-point cushion over Southeast rivals Tampa Bay.

Last night's shootout victory over the Maple Leafs pushed them two points ahead of the Flyers and into first place with just two games remaining in the regular season.
