62.5 - Capitals' Game 1 faceoff win percentage in their defensive zone (15-for-24), led by Brooks Laich, who won ten of 15 D-zone draws.
At the other end of the ice, the Caps won just 11 of 25 draws in the Rangers' zone, meaning that the two teams combined to win 59.2% of the faceoffs in their respective defensive zones, part of the reason scoring chances were at a premium on Wednesday night, as, per Puck Prospectus, "when you lose a faceoff in your own end, opponent shots on goal go up so quickly that it's as though you gave the other team a 10-15 second power-play. For several seconds, the rate of shots allowed is as high as it is on a 5-on-3."
