In his morning presser today, BB recalled that they were both called up from the minors on the same day, but then they “took different career paths after that, though.”

I’m giving all the STH a fair warning – if I can make the Q&A session with Dino tonight (I’m still 50/50) – I will stand up and publicly thank him for helping me fall in love with the game of hockey. His passion for the game (as well as Hunter’s/Stevens and a few others from those early 90’s Caps teams) are the reason why I love hockey.
I have to keep reminding myself that I need to get out of here by no later than 3:30 if I’m going to make it. Ugh.

I like 7:30 starts a whole lot better when I’m going to the game :)

Only reason I don’t is the commute. Ugh.

Let me qualify that remark. 3:30 is to get to the Chalk Talk, not the game. The late start also means more time to kill between that and the game.

Dino is the perfect argument for a “Ring of Fame” inside Verizon. He’s a guy that should be honored for his time here in DC. Dino’s one of my favorite Caps but honoring him shouldn’t require hanging the deuce deuce from the ceiling.
Beards are the zenith of manliness. First, they are scratchy and unpleasant to womenfolk. Second, they look awesome. Third, if you have something tasty for lunch, you can enjoy the smell all the way until dinnertime. - RMNB
One of my favorite hockey cards as a kid....
….was the one where they looked like they had Dino taken off the ice and put right against the wall for a mugshot.

Rice is great if you're really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something.
Dino and Dale were the two players that made me a hockey fan. Very excited for the chalk talk, and trying to figure out how to watch the pre game ceremony, and still somehow get over to D.A.R. for the Robert plant concert. I agreed to go to the concert way back in the early fall before I knew about Dino night :-(
Because now I can justify browsing and commenting during the work day with the argument that I am promoting my business.
