6,583 - Number of days in between back-to-back three-point performances by a Caps defenseman prior to John Carlson (no relation to the Senators' Erik) completing the feat last night in Ottawa after a trio of points Monday night in Florida. The last Caps rearguard to accomplish that double trifecta of points was Kevin Hatcher, who had three assists in a game against the Blues on November 24, 1993 and followed that up with a goal and two helpers versus the Penguins two nights later.

Carlson now has a dozen points (three goals, nine assists) in his last ten games, marking the first time a Caps blueliner had as many over a ten-game stretch since Mike Green 's 14 in ten games from February 11 through March 16, 2010.
