The ESPN one you mean. Yeah I agree. So illogical it’s funny.

How remiss of me: Happy Holidays to all and have a very Merry New Year. My son put on his Santa list 12 inches of snow. Well I told him not to expect everything.

I appreciate that Laich’s earlier concussion comments are getting fleshed out. It isn’t a simple issue, and I think Laich’s interview shows a pragmatic understanding. Does a player need to be protected from himself sometimes? Yes. Is a player going to do everything possible to stay in a playoff game? Yes. Is it difficult to find a balance between the competing interests? Hooo boy, yes.
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
When I finally listened to his interview on M vs. W, Laich’s comments about concussions was similarily more nuanced. Originally I think he was reacting to the overly paternalistic reaction of protecting the players from themselves.

That Nes Gadol Haya turned out to just be a Sham.

True. And it would truly be a Nes Gadol Haya Po(ti) if we ever see him in a Caps sweater again.

Frankly, I thought the big takeaway from last night was
…was the fact that Patrik Elias plays hockey while wearing his wedding ring. What’s up with that?

Ovechkin plays with a ring, too, the one he kisses after scoring a goal (for his brother).

That surprised me, too. I know lots of players wear chains while they play, which is beyond me. But I just assumed no one would wear a ring because it would interfere with the grip on the stick.
"The Caps fan doesn't say, 'is the glass half full' or 'is the glass half empty'. He wonders when the glass is going to spill."
On chains, how many does Ovi usually wear? At least 3 by my count:. A normal “8” chain, his special “8” logo that was used on his streetwear, as well as a cross. While Sasha wears a “28” necklace, which was broken in our opener during a scrum. (Wonder if he got that one replaced ever.)
