i got incredibly lucky last week, with ren’s two stud goalies (vokoun and crawford) both laying multiple stinkers.
You, SME and F&B are all separated yourselves from the pack early on. I’m in 4th but I’m as close to 7th as I am to 3rd.
A lot of season left, but if my studs don’t pick it up I’m boned. Parise is on pace for ~55 pts, Heatley for ~50 and Stewart for ~18 (!). And that isn’t even mentioning Carter. Those slapdickers really need to get going and justify their keeper status.

to me, that’s a pretty good argument for why you’ll only move up the standings. no chance parise and stewart don’t up their paces. (slight chance heatley stays stuck in neutral…as the m.koivu owner, i hope he get it going though.)
also matchups have been a big factor in the early records. and goalie play can turn on a dime. lots of season left for sure.
the minutes logged by parise and kovalchuk have been unreal. too many maybe? connected to their slow scoring starts?
I haven’t watched enough of the Devils to see why they aren’t scoring, but those two are getting force fed a ton of ice time and aren’t doing much with it. Maybe when Zajac gets back he helps lighten the load and gets them going, but I’m hoping it doesn’t take that long.

So I guess we’re going to leave the setting as is with respect to players being immediately available as free agents when dropped vice having a 1-2 day waiting period? I’m fine with it either way, just curious what other think.
My vote would be to institute the 2 day waiver period again.

i’d also vote to re-institute it, just because it’s the most fair. honestly the zero day waiver probably helps me the most, because i’m on that site a lot and i try to keep flexible roster positions. but an owner should be able to not check for a few days without being punished by missing out on a waiver claim.

if we had this rule last year, i would definitely own pekka rinne right now. remember being bummed missing out on my waiver claim to SME.

So I’m not in the Japers’ fantasy league, but this seems the most logical place to ask for advice.
I may have the opportunity to trade Semin for Selanne. I know Teemu’s getting old, but at least over the past few seasons he’s still put up consistent points and decent numbers on the powerplay. Given Semin’s play of late, should I pull the trigger, or sit back and hope Semin heats up again?
Personally I think I would try to get another piece in the deal rather then do it straight up. Also I normally like getting the best player in a trade and I think as the season goes on semin will catch up and very possibly pass selanne in points. Selanne will probably end up being more consistent week to week, but semin could win you any random week with one of his big explosions.

semin could win you any random week with one of his big explosions.
Just like in real life. Also like real life, he could completely screw you by going cold in a close playoff matchup. I think I’d prefer Selanne’s consistency. Also, I’m not sure Semin catches Selanne in points or goals, especially if Selanne puts up ~70 pts, which I think is very possible.
But if your fantasy league has the ridiculous scoring that considers penalties to be a good thing, then Semin will at least get you more PIM.

if it’s a keeper league, semin >>>> teemu.
if it’s a one-year league, i agree with i12swim. no issue whatsoever with you wanting to move semin, but he’s a big name in fantasy so do your due diligence and ask around to as many owners as possible before you pull the trigger. in a single-year league, even with teemu’s hot start, i’d think you could get teemu+ based on semin’s reputation.
I’d agree, despite my post above. Personally I wouldn’t throw in more with Teemu for Semin, but I could definitely see how other people would based on the reputation of Semin and the Caps.

in answer to our question from last week, swim was awarded both jonathan quick’s assist and jonathan quick’s STP from tonight’s game. last week ren had his goalie PIMs disappear the next day, so not sure if quick’s points will hold.
Cluster was credited with Lundqvist’s PIM last week, but it was gone by the next day. Seems to be the MO, they put up G scoring stats initially but take them down by the next morning.

okay by me as long as they’re consistent. if we see those stats stay registered at any point, will be a headache to deal with.

Hemsky is finally back! I played the first three weeks with dead roster spot.
Once you take the fisting element out, it's not romantic anymore.
Congrats. Enjoy the next few games until he’s hurt again.
